Education >> Canadian Nursing Informatics Education Study Report

The Canadian Nursing Informatics Association (CNIA) has released its final report on the national study “Educating tomorrow’s nurses: Where’s nursing informatics?"

The research was funded by Health Canada Office of Health and the Information Highway and supported by an Advisory Committee with representatives of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing, the Canadian Nurses Association, the Academy of Canadian Executive Nurses and Health Canada Office of Nursing Policy.

The study describes the current state of:

  • informatics education opportunities currently available to undergraduate nursing students

  • the level of preparedness of nursing faculty to provide necessary education opportunities in nursing informatics for undergraduate nursing students

  • information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure and support for providing the education opportunities

  • opportunities to enhance nursing curricula, faculty preparedness, and ICT infrastructure and support in Canadian schools of nursing

Feedback is always welcome. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions. Please direct your remarks by e-mail to Dr. Heather Clarke or Dr. Lynn Nagle.
